[Chateau Maucaillou 2017]
The Chateau Maucaillou vineyard is the oldest vineyard in Medoc, with traces found in the land registry dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. The terroir of the 63-hectare vineyard at Chateau Maucaillou is composed of excellent Quaternary alluvial deposits, a large part of which comes from the Guntz Garonne gravel layer found in the great classified growths of Medoc. This gravel is composed of large, shiny stones that reflect the summer sunlight onto the grapes, thereby enhancing their ripeness, which is essential for producing high-quality wine.
Chateau Maucaillou 2017 presents a deep garnet purple color, with notes of oak, earth, subtle plum and blackcurrant, and a hint of herbal undertones. The palate features a wealth of cedar and spicy black fruit flavors, with a luxurious mouthfeel and a woody finish.
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
