Hubert de Montille, the former owner of Domaine de Montille, is a highly esteemed winemaker in Burgundy.However, this estate owner did not initially aim to become a winemaker; he was a lawyer. After inheriting the family estate, he abandoned his legal career and returned to the vineyards of his hometown. Starting with a small vineyard in the village of Volnay in the Cote de Beaune, he gradually developed it into one of the most significant Burgundy estates today.

Since 2005, the winery has fully adopted biodynamic farming methods. Hubert's son, Etienne, has very unique insights into winemaking. After taking over the winery, he has been dedicated to maintaining his father's pure and elegant style. At the same time, to avoid the slightly astringent taste of certain vintages when young, he has adjusted the proportion of whole clusters. This highly technical skill can only be seen in a few top wineries, such as DRC, Leroy, and Dujac.

Volnay, Les Mitans 1er Cru, Domaine de Montille 2020 is a rare wine made from 100% whole cluster fermentation. 13% alcohol.The entire aroma is filled with the scent of ripe cherries/raspberries.It also exhibits a slight, temporary astringency on the palate.The finish has a considerable length, which should stabilize and work very well.
