The 2004 Château Angélus is a beautifully styled, classic vintage that rewards patience. It opens with an extremely expressive, perfumed bouquet of crushed black raspberries, cassis, licorice, and toasty oak. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, leaning more towards elegance and precision rather than sheer weight. The tannins are finely grained and silky, supporting a vibrant core of fresh fruit. This is a highly intellectual and refined expression of Angélus, currently drinking superbly well.
