[Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz 2015]
Penfolds Winery is located in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. It is the most famous and largest winery in Australia, considered a symbol of Australian wine, and some even refer to it as the aristocracy of the Australian wine industry.
Penfolds can be said to be a symbol of the high quality of Australian wines on the international wine stage. Its Grange was introduced in the 1950s, quietly transforming the landscape and ecology of Australian wine.Another wine that emerged around the same time as Grange is St. Henri Shiraz. Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago believes that St. Henri Shiraz has withstood the test of 57 years in the market, its quality is evident, and it has always been the best counterpart to Grange.
As the chief winemaker at Penfolds, Peter Gago only produces a few high-end Penfolds wines, including Grange and St. Henri.
"The 2015 Shiraz St Henri has a base of black olive and plum aromas, and this wine does not use new oak barrels (it is entirely aged in old oak barrels)."This vintage wine contains 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, adding a touch of uplift and green leaf aromas. The body is medium to full-bodied, with intense floral notes, a firm and structured palate, and ample tannins, ensuring a maturation period of over 20 years.
