Chateau Pedesclaux is one of the wineries in the Pauillac village of the Bordeaux region, classified as a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Médoc classification. In 1810, the Bordeaux wine merchant Urbain Pierre Pedesclaux acquired the vineyard from Grand Puy and established his own estate. In 1855, Chateau Pedesclaux was rated as a fifth growth estate.Afterwards, the estate changed hands several times and, using modern management concepts, renovated the castle, established five uniquely themed suites, and designed a tasting room and other facilities for visitors to stay in.
The 2020 Pedesclaux presents a deep purple-black color, exuding vibrant aromas of crushed blackberries, black raspberries, and ripe blackcurrants, followed by flavors of menthol, fennel, violets, and cedarwood. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant, with crisp layers of black and red berries, complemented by firm, ripe tannins and wonderful freshness, with a long and delicious finish.
