[Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2018]
Robert Parker Rating: 97+/100
Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is located in Pauillac, Bordeaux, France. Its history dates back to the 17th century, and throughout the 18th century, the estate was managed by women. Their meticulous care was eventually rewarded when it was classified as a second growth in 1855.The wine of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has a gentle and elegant style unique to women, with a deep color, smooth texture, and a fragrance full of fruitiness, making it drinkable even when young.
"Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2018 has a very deep purple-black color and requires extensive decanting to begin revealing the flavors of crushed black cherries, warm blackberries, ripe blackcurrants, and chocolate cake, with nuances of violet, rose fruit tea, charcuterie, and tapenade, and a smoky note of new leather and iron ore; the body is full and concentrated, brimming with layers of black fruit and salinity, with a rock-solid, super ripe, super fine-grained tannin and a gentle background freshness, with a very long finish that truly showcases the mineral character."
Grape varieties:
71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot
