Chateau Palmer is located in the Margaux region of Bordeaux, adjacent to the first-growth estate Chateau Margaux.It is said that in 1814, when Bordeaux was occupied by British forces, British General Charles Palmer, stationed in Bordeaux, happened to buy the estate during a trip to Paris and named it Chateau Palmer after himself.The estate was classified as a third growth in the 1855 classification, and although it is ranked as a third growth, its quality was already recognized as that of a first growth at the time.To this day, Chateau Palmer still maintains traditional winemaking methods and is one of the few wineries in the Margaux region that does not undergo filtration. The use of a high proportion of Merlot in its blends is a characteristic feature of the winery in the Margaux region, undoubtedly making the wine more elegant, smooth, and complex.Chateau Palmer, full of aristocratic charm.
