[Chateau Montrose 2007]
Robert Parker rating: 92/100
Château Montrose, located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the northern Médoc region of Bordeaux, is a highly esteemed and widely acclaimed wine estate. The estate was classified as a second growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification and is considered one of the best estates in that category.
"The 2007 Montrose has a crisp, earthy, tobacco aroma, with sage and clove gradually developing in the glass. It is evident that Saint Estèphe is determined to succeed with its vintage wines, and this estate does very well in this regard." Medium-bodied on the palate, with a full grain of tannin.
Grape varieties:
64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc & 1% Petit Verdot
