[Chateau Margaux 2001 MG (1500 ml)]
Robert Parker rating: 91/100
Chateau Margaux is one of the most famous wine estates in Bordeaux, located east of Margaux in the Médoc. It, along with Lafite, Latour, and Haut-Brion, was classified as a first growth in the original 1855 Bordeaux Médoc classification.Generally speaking, Margaux is considered the most elegant among the first-growth estates and has always been one of the most expensive wines in the world. The Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend is complemented by small amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.
"Chateau Margaux 2001 performed excellently, somewhat reminiscent of the 1985 and 1999 vintages. It is an elegant, seamless wine, deep ruby/purple in color, exuding beautiful floral, blackcurrant, blackberry, and cedar aromas."
Grape varieties:
82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, and 4% Cabernet Franc
