[Chateau Margaux 2016]
Robert Parker rating: 99/100
Since the 17th century, Chateau Margaux has been recognized as one of the world's top wines.Chateau Margaux is blended from classic Bordeaux grape varieties, with a rich and complex flavor. On the palate, it is as elegant and powerful as a ballet dance on the tip of the tongue, with a fresh and long-lasting finish. The tannins are abundant and smooth, the balance is excellent, and its overall characteristics are quite outstanding. As it ages, the red wine from Château Margaux can develop a more delicate texture and complex flavors.
Deep garnet purple, exuding enchanting aromas of red currants, candied violets, cherry liqueur, and crushed black currants from the glass, followed by scents of tilled black earth, forest floor, cast iron pots, and cigar boxes, with a hint of lavender and oolong tea. The body is medium, with a mineral accent that lingers in the mouth, creating a sense of ethereal weightlessness. However, its complexity is very strong, with layers of red and black flavors, supported by solid, powdery, delicate tannins. The finish is incredibly fragrant and has a long aftertaste.
Grape variety:
94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot y 1% Petit Verdot
