[Chateau Lacoste Borie 2018]
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, with a history that dates back to the Middle Ages. From the 16th century until 1920, it was mostly owned by one family.
Today, Jean-Eugène Borie bought the property in 1978 and immediately appointed his son François-Xavier to manage it. Today, the property is owned by the Borie family.François-Xavier has now entrusted the daily operations of the estate to his daughter Emeline. The estate covers approximately 90 hectares, with 58 hectares planted with vines, and is possibly the only estate today whose boundaries are the same as when it was classified in 1855.In addition to Grand Vin, they also produce high-quality second wines under the Lacoste Borie label.
The 2018 Lacoste-Borie wine presents a deep garnet red color, with roasted plums, stewed cherries, blackcurrants, and milk chocolate, along with earthy and vanilla notes. The body is medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy, with a good fruit core and herbal finish.
Grape variety:
61 Cabernet Sauvignon, 31 Merlot, 8 Cabernet Franc
