[Chateau La Tour Carnet 2014]James Suckling rating: 93/100
Chateau La Tour Carnet was ranked as a fourth-growth estate in the 1855 Médoc classification. After being acquired by Bernard Magrez in 2000, its quality significantly improved, with Robert Parker calling it the best value among all classified estates.Using drones (one of the latest technologies acquired by Bernard Magrez) to analyze vineyard plots from the air has deepened the understanding of each plot. For example, the terroir of Labyrinthe is more suitable for Merlot, while the slopes are better for Cabernet.Chateau La Tour Carnet has an enormous 190-hectare vineyard, of which only 2.46 hectares are used to produce La Tour Carnet Blanc, resulting in very limited production.
"Chateau La Tour Carnet 2014 presents intense aromas of blackberry, fresh mushrooms, and dried flowers." Black licorice is also present. The wine is full-bodied, firm and smooth, with mature tannins and flowing lines. Wet earth and spices."
Grape varieties:
60% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc
