[Chateau La Tour Carnet 2012]
Robert Parker Rating: 90/100 (2015)
Chateau La Tour Carnet was ranked as a fourth growth in the 1855 Médoc classification. After the estate was acquired by Bernard Magrez in 2000, its quality significantly improved, and Robert Parker described it as the most cost-effective among all classified estates.Using drones (one of the latest technologies acquired by Bernard Magrez) to analyze vineyard plots from the air has deepened the understanding of each plot. For example, the terroir of Labyrinthe is more suitable for Merlot, while the slopes are better for Cabernet.Chateau La Tour Carnet has an enormous 190-hectare vineyard, of which only 2.46 hectares are used to produce La Tour Carnet Blanc, resulting in very limited production.
"As part of Bernard Magrez's empire, the 2012 vintage is a sleeper."Her outstanding deep ruby/purple color, sweet blackcurrant, black cherry fruit, supple tannins, medium to full body, and captivating finish create an impressive wine that should drink well for 10-15 years.Robert Parker
