[Chateau L‘evangile 2012]
Robert Parker rating: 94/100
Chateau L‘Evangile is one of the renowned wineries in the Pomerol region of Bordeaux, France, adjacent to Chateau Petrus, Vieux Chateau Certan, and Chateau La Conseillante. The estate's performance has been outstanding since it was taken over by Domaines Barons de Rothschild in 1990.Chateau L‘evangile always exudes aromas of cherries, blueberries, and truffles; its medium-bodied wine features flavors of black fruits, spices, and sage, with fine, soft tannins and a tight structure.
"Black cherries and blackcurrants provide a deep ruby color, soft tannins, a full-bodied wine with a good smoothness."Although it possesses an excellent bouquet and smooth beauty, it does not have the great gifts of those great vintages. However, it is undoubtedly an outstanding red wine, a remarkable achievement by Chateau L‘Evangile in 2012, and can be enjoyed over the next 15 years.
Grape varieties:
93% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc
