James Suckling rating: 98/100
Chateau Lynch Bages is a red wine from the Pauillac village in Bordeaux, France, and is one of the 1855 Medoc Fifth Growths. For many consumers in Greater China, Chateau Lynch Bages is the most familiar among all the Fifth Growths. In Hong Kong, this wine is widely popular because it bears the name of the famous Cantonese opera star Ling Zhi Bo, and Cathay Pacific even used it as the welcome drink in first class. As early as the 1990s, Lynch-Bages wine had already reached the level of a "super second growth." It received very high ratings in Bordeaux, was highly sought after by wine critics and enthusiasts, and in Hong Kong, it was even referred to as the "everyday wine of billionaires."
"The 2010 Lynch-Bages is still a saturated ruby-black color, exuding rich blackcurrant fruit aromas, mingled with notes of pencil shavings, fertile soil, and cigar box." The body is full and rich in layers, with intense fruit flavors, solid tannins, and lively acidity. The most lagging Lynch-Bages is also one of the true successes of the vintage; it is a vibrant, tightly-knit wine."
Grape varieties:
79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
