Chateau Leoville Poyferre, rated as a second growth in the 1855 classification, is located in the Saint Julien region of Bordeaux, France.Chateau Leoville Poyferre used to primarily plant Merlot, but after Mr. Didier Cuvelier took over, the estate began to extensively plant Cabernet Sauvignon.The vineyard covers an area of 80 hectares, with a planting density of 8,500 vines per hectare, an average yield of 8,750 liters per hectare, and an average vine age of 35 years.This premium vineyard site has a higher proportion of old vine grapevines, which gives the winery's wine production limitless potential.

"A stunning, luxurious wine, with a deep purple color that feels invigorating, rich and full-bodied, with delightful aromas of blackcurrants, charcoal, graphite, and spring flowers. It's an incredibly concentrated wine, with silky smooth tannins, a very rounded mouthfeel, mature and enticing layered flavors, and a natural alcohol content of 14%."So incredibly strong, full-bodied, firm, and concentrated, I still find the tannins quite strong, although they are somewhat hidden behind the fruity glycerin and some extracts.Drinking window: 2018 to 2040."
