Chateau Leoville Las Cases is located on the border of Saint Julien and Pauillac, opposite the first growth Chateau Latour.The estate covers an area of 98 hectares, with soil consisting of deep sandy gravel and clay gravel as the subsoil, and a layer of gravel from the fourth century as the topsoil, typical of the Saint Julien soil structure.The average age of the vines is 40 years, with a planting density of 8,600 plants per hectare.Among the many prestigious estates in Bordeaux, the quality of Château Léoville Las Cases has earned it the title of "super second growth," and Robert Parker has long placed Château Léoville Las Cases in his list of first-growth estates.
