Robert Parker has long placed Château Léoville Las Cases in his list of First Growths.

"Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2001 presents a medium to deep garnet color with a slight brick hue. From the glass, it exudes vibrant aromas of cherry, blackberry jam, and blackcurrant, accompanied by scents of anise, floral notes, oolong tea, and tobacco leaves, with a hint of smokiness. The medium-bodied wine has an elegant and refined palate bursting with exotic spices, floral notes, and dried berries, framed by soft tannins and seamless freshness.
