In the 15th century, Lord Laluvié and Lord Olivier began the land consolidation. Thus was born the "Pontey Noble Estate," which is today's Château Haut-Bergey.In 1700, Sir John Francis Crese, a consultant to the Bordeaux council, settled here.In 1772, the estate had 100 hectares of vines.A century later, the vineyard was abandoned, and the reconstruction of the castle in 1850 was a property approval.It wasn't until the second half of this century, specifically in 1957, that the region gradually began to restore its past wines.In March 1991, Sylviane Garcin Cathiard acquired Chateau Haut-Bergey.
Aromas of black cherry, stewed blackberry, black olive, oyster shell, and sweet tobacco. The wine has a full body, with tight and chewy tannins. Rich, smooth, with a mineral undertone. Starting from 2024, give it a try.
