[Chateau Haut Brion 1975]
Robert Parker rating: 91/100 Chateau Haut Brion is a highly legendary winery: it is the only one among the 61 classified growths of Bordeaux that is not located in Medoc, and it is also the only top Bordeaux winery that produces both red and white wines.Additionally, although it is the smallest estate among the five great Bordeaux châteaux, it gained fame the earliest. "Château Haut-Brion 1975 has been variable in the past, but this is one of the better examples with a deep garnet color." The aroma is striking, with scents of leather and burnt earth filling the air, followed by a subtle hint of terracotta. The palate is well-balanced, and for a respectable first-growth estate, it has quite a bit of animalistic and wild character, but that's precisely its charm. The finish is somewhat astringent."
