Chateau Haut Batailley is located in the Pauillac region of Bordeaux, France.It is a Fifth Growth estate classified in the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Official Classification.The owner, Francois Borie, initially focused more on the second growth estate, Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou, and did not invest much effort into managing Chateau Haut Batailley. Later, in 2006, his daughter Emeline Borie took over, renovated the estate's facilities and cellar, and modernized it, resulting in a significant improvement in the wine quality.The Cazes family of Chateau Lynch-Bages acquired Chateau Haut-Batailley in 2017. Currently, Château Haut-Batailley has 22 hectares of vineyards, with soil typical of the Médoc gravel, which is conducive to producing high-quality grapes.This fifth-growth estate is relatively less circulated in the market compared to other Pauillac estates of the same rank, and it is often a gem that wine lovers tend to overlook. In terms of price, Haut Batailley is one of the more affordable first-growth estates in the Pauillac region. "Chateau Haut Batailley 2013 presents a medium to deep garnet red color, exuding aromas of roasted blackberries, black cherries, and warm black currants, with hints of fungi and earthy notes; the body is medium, with flavors of black fruits and abundant earthy sensations, the grainy tannin structure is firm, and the finish is endless."
