Chateau Fombrauge, located in the Saint-Emilion region on the right bank of Bordeaux, France, is currently the largest classified growth estate in the area (58.6 hectares).The term "Fombrauge" is derived from the word "fons brogiera," which means "a spring surrounded by bushes and heather."The earliest written records of Chateau Fombrauge date back to the 16th century. In 1575, Chateau Fombrauge planted its first grapevines.Subsequently, the estate was sold to Ferdinand de Taffard, and under his leadership, the red wine produced by Chateau Fombrauge won a gold medal at the 1876 Paris Exposition.Chateau Fombrauge, based in the superior terroir of Saint Emilion, continues to present high-quality wines to wine enthusiasts.
The 2018 Fombrauge presents a deep garnet color, exuding expressive aromas of Black Forest cake, blackberry jam, and Morello cherries, with flavors of plum preserves, spice box, and floral notes.The body is full, with a firm, soft texture, brimming with freshness, and all those rich black fruits bring a long, spicy finish.
