Château Angélus is a renowned winery located in the Saint-Émilion region in the northeast of Bordeaux. The property is located in a coveted spot on the western side of the town of Saint-Émilion, on a gentle south-facing slope of the Saint-Émilion plateau. It produces a luxurious, long-lived Merlot-Cabernet Franc wine that is often highly praised by critics. The grand wine is aged in new oak barrels for about 18 months before bottling. Then, it will be stored in the bottle for at least five years before being released, but due to the concentration, weight, and structure of Angélus, which usually allow the wine to evolve over several decades, it can be aged for a longer period.
The 2017 Le Carillon d'Angélus presents a medium to deep pomegranate red color, exuding warm aromas of black plum, wild blueberry, and black cherry, along with scents of fallen leaves and cinnamon sticks. The body is medium, with a fresh and vibrant palate, rounded tannins, and an extremely pure finish.
Grape varieties: 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
