[Blanc de Chasse Spleen 2020]
The origin of the special name "Chateau Chasse Spleen" (Forget Sorrow Castle) is widely believed to come from the British poet Byron. When he visited the winery in 1821 and took a sip of the wine offered by the owner, he exclaimed, "Quel remede pour chasser le spleen."(What a remedy to chase away the blues!),The term "Chasse-spleen" also comes from this.(Hong Kong also calls it Chasuble - directly translated from its French name) The winery began to flourish in the latter half of the 19th century, but unfortunately, it missed the 1855 classification. However, in fact, its price at the end of the 19th century was higher than many classified wineries. And the famous wine critic Robert Parker once said: "This is an outstanding wine from the Moulis-en-Médoc region. If this wine had participated in the 1855 classification system, it would absolutely be valued as a Third Growth."
Blanc de Chasse Spleen 2020 is filled with the aromas of pomegranate and white flowers, citrus, lemon, minerals, white peach, and pineapple. Its acidity is moderate and pleasant, fresh and crisp, making this carefree white wine Fresh & Crispy truly memorable.
Grape varieties: 54% Semillon, 39% Sauvignon Blanc, 7% Muscadelle
