[Chateau d'Armailhac 2021]
RP:92
Chateau d'Armailhac is one of the five major Bordeaux estates under Chateau Mouton. The winery, nicknamed "Single Guy" by wine enthusiasts in Hong Kong, features Bacchus, the god of wine and grapes.Chateau d’Armailhac is located to the north of the village of Pauillac, adjacent to the south of Mouton and bordering the Carruades de Lafite vineyard. This indicates that its vineyard also has quite excellent conditions, with the soil primarily composed of gravel, mixed with some sandy, clay, and limestone components.
The 2021 d'Armailhac wine is very beautiful, filled with enchanting aromas of mint, blackcurrant, and blackberry, mixed with notes of pencil shavings and sweet pipe tobacco. The body is medium to full-bodied, rich and smooth, seamless and supple, with a meaty fruitiness and a licorice finish. In the futures tasting, I compared this wine to the modern version of the estate's extremely charming 1999 vintage, and anyone who remembers the 1999 vintage will find the drinking window of the 2021 vintage equally broad.
Grape varieties:
63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
