[Chateau Angelus 1997]
Robert Parker rating: 89/100
Château Angélus is a renowned wine estate located in the Saint-Émilion region in the northeast of Bordeaux. The property is situated in a coveted location to the west of the town of Saint-Émilion, on a gentle south-facing slope of the Saint-Émilion plateau. It produces a luxurious, long-lived Merlot-Cabernet Franc wine that is often highly rated by critics. The grand wine is aged in new oak barrels for about 18 months before bottling. Then, it will be stored in the bottle for at least five years before being released, but due to the concentration, weight, and structure of Angélus, which usually allow the wine to evolve over decades, it can be aged for a longer period.
"Chateau Angelus 1997 is a big and luscious vintage wine, exuding aromas of plums, berries, and pomegranates." The wine is full-bodied, with smooth tannins and a long finish." - Wine Spectator
