[Chateau Talbot 2005]
Robert Parker Rating: 90/100
Chateau Talbot is undoubtedly one of the most famous wineries in Médoc.Several mysterious factors combined to create the winery's current fame: one legend is that the original owner of the winery was General Talbot from England. It is well known that Talbot is a champion of aging potential. However, this advantage does not prevent it from being very good when young, round and easy to drink, with soft and delicate tannins.Talbot's wines have an outgoing personality and never close themselves off. This is a very pure and characterful wine, with complex aromas of Havana cigars and licorice, embodying classic tradition. The taste is smooth, with elegant tannins, velvety, firm, and pleasant. Black fruits exude a beautiful aroma. This wine is already delightful and will continue to be so until around 2025.
"2005 Talbot is a dense ruby/purple, with intense forest floor, bramble, and black and red currant fruit aromas." It has a slight medicinal note, medium body, is not particularly complex, but has good sweet fruit and decent texture.
Grape varieties:
57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot
