The history of Chateau Sociando Mallet dates back to the early 17th century, located in the Haut-Medoc region known for its many classified growths, with a vineyard area of 56 hectares. The estate's soil consists of gravel soil over a subsoil made up of clay and limestone. The estate owner, Jean Gautreau, inherited the personality of his predecessors and believed that exceptional quality does not need external validation. Therefore, he did not participate in the 1855 Médoc Grand Cru Classé and the 1932 Cru Bourgeois classification.
"For a red wine that is usually highly extracted, rich, and very aged, Chateau Sociando Mallet 2013 is relatively mellow and can be enjoyed in the next 7-8 years."It can be consumed early within the next 7-8 years.Chateau Sociando Mallet 2013 has a deep ruby/violet color, with aromas of blackcurrants and blueberries, and a slightly damp, rocky note; its tannins are soft, the body is medium, and it is definitely not an overly intense wine, but it is well-made and pure, without the astringent tannins or vegetal characteristics."
