James Suckling rating: 90/100
The history of Chateau Sociando Mallet dates back to the early 17th century, located in the Haut-Medoc region known for its production of high-quality wines, with a vineyard area of 56 hectares. The estate's soil is composed of gravel soil on top of a subsoil made of clay and limestone. The estate owner Jean Gautreau inherited the personality of his ancestors, believing that exceptional quality does not need external validation, and therefore did not participate in the 1855 Médoc Grand Cru Classé and the 1932 Cru Bourgeois classifications.
"For red wines that are usually highly extracted, rich, and very aged, Chateau Sociando Mallet 2013 is relatively mellow and can be enjoyed early within the next 7-8 years."Can be consumed early within the next 7-8 years.Chateau Sociando Mallet 2013 has a deep ruby/violet color, with flavors of blackcurrant and blueberry, and a slightly damp, rocky note; its tannins are soft, the body is medium, and it is definitely not an overly intense wine, but it is well-crafted and pure, without the astringent tannins or vegetal characteristics."

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot
