One of the most influential figures on the Right Bank, Denis Durantou, is currently the chief winemaker at L'Eglise Clinet. He also owns Lalande de Pomerol, Chateau Chenade, and Les Cruzelles. In 2009, he acquired Chateau Saintayme (Saintem is the new name of the winery), which is a typical Bordeaux-style winery but relatively affordable.Chateau Saintem is a 100% Merlot red wine from a 9-hectare estate, featuring a strong, soft fruit aroma with beautiful scents of blackberry, blueberry, and licorice.The body is medium, juicy and tasty, with a lingering finish of juicy fruits, hazelnuts, and berries.
