"2015 may have been a slightly warmer year, but the resulting wines have lower alcohol content and higher acidity, which provides a more vibrant palate and a more concentrated expression of local character." The alcohol content of this vintage is half a degree lower, and the acidity is a bit more pronounced; moreover, the amount of wine in the foudre seems to help the oak barrels exhibit better overall integration. This wine is dry, with a beautiful texture, and replacing Merlot with Malbec seems to have enhanced the refinement of the super elegant tannins. 66,000 bottles were bottled in February 2017."
Grape variety:
57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Carmenere, 12% Malbec, 7% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc
