[Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2016]
Robert Parker rating: 98/100 (2018)
Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte was reorganized by French supermarket tycoon Daniel Cathiard after he purchased the estate in 1990, bringing it back to the top tier of Pessac Leognan.Due to the unique terroir conditions of this region, it is suitable for growing both red and white grapes, making it one of the few areas in Bordeaux where both red and white wines are excellent.Robert Parker even awarded the red and white wines 100 points in 2009 and 2010, making it a force to be reckoned with!
"Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2016 has a deep pomegranate red color. The initial notes are warm black cherry, blackberry pie, star anise, and fragrant clove, with hints of chocolate box, cigar box, and pencil lead, along with aromas of truffle and crushed stone."The body is medium to full-bodied, rich and enticing, filled with aromatic blackberry jam and extremely soft tannins that completely envelop the palate, with a long and complex finish.
Grape varieties:
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
