Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte was reorganized by French supermarket tycoon Daniel Cathiard after he purchased the estate in 1990, bringing it back to the top tier of Pessac Leognan.Due to the unique terroir conditions of this region being suitable for growing both red and white grapes, it has become one of the few areas in Bordeaux where both red and white wines are excellent.Robert Parker once awarded the red and white wines 100 points in 2009 and 2010, making it a force to be reckoned with!

"Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2013 has an aromatic scent of mulberries and strawberries, with cedar wood and subtle underbrush notes emerging over time; it has a medium body, a round and smooth mouthfeel, quite spicy, with an open and enticing finish that carries a leathery fruitiness. This Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge has a very approachable feel, similar to the 2013 vintage of Chateau Pape Clement, and can be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years."
