[Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2011]
Robert Parker rating: 94/100
Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte was reorganized after being purchased by French supermarket magnate Daniel Cathiard in 1990, bringing it back to the top tier of Pessac Leognan.Due to the unique terroir conditions of this region, it is suitable for growing both red and white grapes, making it one of the few areas in Bordeaux where both red and white wines are excellent.Robert Parker once awarded both the red and white wines 100 points in 2009 and 2010, making a remarkable impact!
"The grand Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2011 is another huge success. It presents a dense deep purple color, accompanied by rich aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry, licorice, and subtle oak; the body is full, with smooth tannins, and the acidity, wood, and alcohol are perfectly integrated. The palate is rich in layers, with a finish that can last around 45 seconds. This outstanding red wine should be drinkable within 15-20 years."
Grape varieties:
55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc
