Poggio Antico estate is located in the Montalcino area of Tuscany, Italy, covering approximately 200 hectares, with beautiful forests, fields, olive trees, and vineyards. Poggio Antico estate produced its first wine in 1976, and in 1984, Giancarlo and Nuccia Gloder fell in love with the terroir of this vineyard and decided to purchase the estate.Since 1990, Nuccia Gloder's wines have been rated as one of the "Top 100 Wines of the Year" by "Wine Spectator" five times. The 1985 Poggio became the fourth wine on this list, making it the first Italian wine to receive this honor.The couple's daughter Paola took over the management of the estate in 1987, and in 1997, Paola's husband Alberto also joined the ranks of running the winery.In 2020, the winery received organic certification. It is a family-run winery with a group of partners who are passionate about winemaking. They combine enthusiasm and respect for nature, paying attention to every detail and service quality. To ensure the quality of each wine produced, Poggio Antico Valley Estate controls its production to a certain volume, avoiding overproduction, and insists on hand-picking the grapes.
