[Chateau Rieussec 2007 (750ml)]
Robert Parker rating: 95/100
Chateau Rieussec is located in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux and is renowned worldwide for producing sweet, luscious white wines. The vineyards of Chateau Rieussec are situated on the hills of the villages of Sauternes and Fargues, adjacent to Chateau d'Yquem. As one of the largest estates in the Sauternes region, Chateau Rieussec has a vineyard area of as much as 93 hectares. Chateau Rieussec was classified as a first growth in the 1855 Sauternes and Barsac classification and became part of Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite in 1984.In order to fully tap into the terroir potential of Chateau Rieussec, Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite constructed new cellars and winemaking facilities, adding modern equipment to the grape sorting and pressing rooms, thereby more fully showcasing the potential of Chateau Rieussec.
"Chateau Rieussec 2007 has a Barsac-like fragrance, with flavors of barley sugar infused with ginger and honey. The palate is very pure and balanced, with wonderful acidity and a very spicy finish. Clearly, it does not have the longevity of the 2005 or 2009 vintages, but it unfolds quickly."
Grape varieties:
87% Semillon, 8.5% Sauvignon Blanc, 4.5% Muscadelle
