[Chateau Rauzan Segla 2013]
James Suckling rating: 95/100
Chateau Rauzan Segla is located in the Margaux region on the left bank of Bordeaux. In the 1855 Bordeaux classification, Chateau Rauzan Segla was ranked just behind the four first-growth chateaux at the time. Later, in 1973, Chateau Mouton was elevated to a first-growth, but this did not change the outstanding quality of Chateau Rauzan Segla. The wine of Chateau Rauzan Segla has excellent aging potential; if stored properly, it can reach its peak in 10-25 years, and the best vintages can even be kept for several decades.Due to its excellent quality, it was eventually acquired in 1994 by the Chanel Group, which is known for its passion for acquiring luxury brands.Half of the estate's production is used to make its second wine, Chateau Rauzan Segla. Unlike other wineries in the Margaux region, its wine is richer and requires longer aging, while its second wine can be enjoyed earlier.
"Chateau Rauzan Segla 2013 has an elegant bouquet of flowers, blackberries, and bramble, with subtle hints of violet unfolding gently in the glass; it has a medium body, is very inviting on the palate, harmonious, and rich in detail, making you want to take another sip." If you insist on having a Margaux wine from this vintage, then Chateau Rauzan Segla 2013 is your best choice.
