[Penfolds (Bin 2) 2019]
Penfolds Grange is one of Australia's most famous wines, an outstanding wine that has even been officially registered as a heritage icon of South Australia. This wine was launched with the experimental vintage of 1951, expressing the synergy between the Shiraz grape variety and the soil and climate of South Australia. The result is a unique wine that holds a place among the best wines in the world. The estate adopts a "blending" philosophy, using grapes from multiple vineyards and regions (Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, and Magill Estate).
Deep garnet. The assertion of graphite and blackcurrant immediately confirms the role of Cabernet in the blend. The flavors of tomato leaf and sour cherry complement the other red fruit flavors, making it even more enticing. Background cedar oak is just discernible. The fruit of summer pudding swirls with redcurrant jelly and nut toffee. Variety ID is confirmed by green Sicilian olives, plum fruit, and spice. The tannins are delicate, and the oak flavor is well-masked.
Grape variety:
80% Shiraz y 20% Mataro
