[Chateau Prieure Lichine 2016]
Robert Parker rating: 92/100
Chateau Prieure-Lichine, located in the Cantenac area of the prestigious Margaux village on the left bank of Bordeaux, is one of the rare Fourth Growth estates from the 1855 classification. Its vineyards were part of a monastery's property before the French Revolution. At that time, the red wine produced by Chateau Prieur-Lichine was called La Prieure, which means "the monastery" in French. This wine exudes aromas of vanilla, nougat, and cherry, with hints of wood and leather. It has a full-bodied profile and a long finish.
"Chateau Prieure Lichine 2016 has a medium to deep garnet red color, exuding rich aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry, and blackberry, with hints of cedar, tobacco, dried herbs, and iron ore; it has a medium body and excellent mouthfeel."With lovely, vibrant black berry flavors and earthy notes, composed of mature granular tannins, the finish is long and refreshing.
Grape variety:
66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot
