Robert Parker rating: 94/100
When it comes to famous Bordeaux wines, people often say, "On the left bank, there's Lafite; on the right bank, there's Pavie."Chateau Pavie is located in the Saint Emilion region on the right bank of Bordeaux, France, and has a very long history.Chateau Pavie is located in the southeastern part of Saint Emilion on the right bank of Bordeaux. The soil here consists of the most common limestone and brown clay found on the right bank of Bordeaux. The average age of the vines is 40 years, and the grapes are all hand-picked and then fermented in large stainless steel barrels.
Generally speaking, traditional French wines are soft, balanced, and elegant; New World wines are full of character, power, and wildness, but Chateau Pavie is an exception.Although Chateau Pavie originates from France, it inherently possesses the elegance and balance of French wines, while simultaneously being filled with the power and character of New World wines.
"Chateau Pavie 2008 has a slightly tight style, but the body remains full, presenting a young, intense purple color, with rich fruit aromas, licorice, graphite, forest floor, and plenty of dark plums and black and red currants."
