[Le Petit Cheval 2008]
Le Petit Cheval is the second label of Cheval Blanc.Chateau Cheval Blanc is located in the Saint-Emilion region. It belongs to the Premier Grand Cru Classé A category and has been referred to as one of the "Eight Great Bordeaux Estates" in recent years. The soil contains more gravel, sand, and clay. The greatest advantage of Château Cheval Blanc is that both its young and old wines are excellent. The young wine, when first produced, has an enticing sweet note but is slightly weak in body; however, after 10 years of aging, the wine becomes rich, complex, and smooth.
The 2008 Le Petit Cheval (65% Cabernet Franc, the rest Merlot) is a light but not weak wine. Its flavor is more cedar-like, more evolved, with notes of spice box, tobacco leaf, licorice, and red and black fruits. It has a medium body, classic style, and is suitable for drinking in 10-12 years.
Grape varieties:
65% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot
