[Chateau Potensac 2017]
Robert Parker rating: 90 /100
Chateau Potensac is located in the Medoc region on the left bank of Bordeaux, consisting of three vineyards with a total area of 53 hectares. The soil is the familiar gravel and red clay of the left bank. The winery's standards for selecting grapes are nearly stringent, with only 40%-45% of the grapes being used to produce the flagship wine, Chateau Potensac, each year. The remaining grapes that do not meet the standards can only be used to make the second wine, La Chapelle de Potensac.
The 2017 Potensac wine exhibits a medium to deep garnet-red color, exuding aromas of crushed black cherries, blackberries, and cedar wood, with hints of tobacco and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and inviting, with chewy tannins and a rustic finish.
Grape varieties:
47% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
