The rising star of Bordeaux's Left Bank, Chateau Pontet Canet, is located in the heart of Pauillac, Bordeaux. To the north, it is adjacent to one of the five major estates, Chateau Mouton Rothschild, and was ranked as a fifth-growth estate in the 1855 classification.
"Color: medium to deep pomegranate purple."The 2017 Pontet-Canet is crafted with raspberries, warm plums, and red and black currants, along with a heap of pencil shavings.The body is medium, with a refreshing taste and notes of minerality, wonderful elegance, and approachability.Fluffy tannins bring a good texture and a long, fragrant finish.During the aging process, 50% in new barrels, 15% in second-fill barrels, and the remaining 35% in double-ears bottles for 16 months, with most of the material coming from the soil of Pontet-Canet!
