[Chateau Palmer 2005]
Robert Parker rating: 97/100
Chateau Palmer is located in the Margaux region of Bordeaux, adjacent to the first growth estate Chateau Margaux. It is said that in 1814, when Bordeaux was occupied by the British army, the British General Charles Palmer, stationed in Bordeaux, happened to buy the estate during a business trip to Paris and named it Chateau Palmer after himself. The winery was classified as a third growth in the 1855 classification, and although it is ranked as a third growth, its quality was already recognized as that of a first growth at the time.To this day, Chateau Palmer still maintains traditional winemaking methods and is one of the few wineries in the Margaux region that does not undergo filtration. Its characteristic use of a high proportion of Merlot in the blend undoubtedly makes the wine more elegant, smooth, and complex.Chateau Palmer, full of aristocratic charm.
"Chateau Palmer 2005 has a medium body and a strong taste, but it is not overly aggressive. It is cloaked in a solid backbone, ensuring it can be aged for a long time."The only question is whether it will surpass the 2009 or 2010 Chateau Palmer?"
Grape varieties:
53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot
