Chateau Ormes de Pez was owned by the Alibert family in the 19th century, and they also owned a fifth-growth estate located in Haut Medoc—Chateau Belgrave.Chateau Ormes de Pez was classified as a Cru Bourgeois in the Médoc in 1932, and in 2003 it was further selected as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, placing it among the top nine Cru Bourgeois estates. However, it later withdrew due to changes in the Cru Bourgeois classification system.
The 2017 Ormes de Pez presents a medium to deep garnet red color, with aromas centered around black cherry and blackcurrant, exuding scents of earth, stewed tea, and tobacco, along with the essence of forest floor.The body is medium, with a palate full of juicy black fruit flavors, a grainy texture, and a long finish with a mineral taste.
