[Manoir De Gay 2014]
Chateau De Gay has a rather long history in the Pomerol region. In 1850, it was known as Domaine De Gay.By 1872, the estate owner sold part of the land to the Greloud family, the founders of Chateau Lafleur. The vineyard of Chateau Le Gay is composed of limestone clay and gravelly soils. In this small 10.5-hectare vineyard, 90% of the grapes are Merlot and 10% are Cabernet Franc, with a planting density of 5,500 vines per hectare. Most of the vines are nearly 50 years old.
"2014 Manoir De Gay comes from 12-year-old Merlot vines at Le Gay."It has a fresh, vibrant violet aroma, and I personally find it more appealing than the 2015 Montviel; the palate is medium, with juicy red berries, a gentle entry, a hint of spice, but a well-structured finish—lingering with a touch of truffle."
Grape varieties:
100% Merlot
