[Chateau Meyney 2013]
Meyney is one of the earliest vineyards in the Médoc region. In 1662, the estate's predecessor was a monastery named Couvent des Feuillants or Prieuré des Couleys. It belonged to the monk Pierre Forthon.Since 1791, the estate was once owned by the Luetkens family, who managed it for 120 years. The winery underwent extensive renovations and was renamed to its current name, Chateau Meyney.Later, in 1919, it was acquired by Mr. Désiré Cordier, who owned the Fourth Growth estate Talbot. In 2004, after the acquisition of Meyney by CA Grands Crus, a subsidiary of the French agricultural credit group (Groupe Crédit Agricole), the quality of the wine further improved. Chateau Meyney 2013 carries delicate toasting aromas and scents of red and dark berries. The palate is quite full-bodied, with rich tannins, but mature and fresh, with aromas of red fruits, graphite, and spices on the nose. This product from the Saint-Estèphe region has a rich mouthfeel, with tannins harmonizing with the sweet flavors of red fruits.
