[Chateau Monbousquet 2020]
Robert Parker rating: 93/100
The history of Chateau Monbousquet can be traced back to 1540. In modern times, the estate was purchased in 1993 by Gerard Perse, who owns several renowned estates such as Chateau Pavie and Chateau Pavie-Decesse.Out of his love for red wine, Gerard Perse bought up many famous Bordeaux estates in one go, even spending heavily to reform the estates. He even invited winemaking master Michel Rolland to the estate as a winemaking consultant, significantly improving the quality and winemaking techniques of Chateau Monbousquet, allowing it to be classified as one of the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classees in 2006.
In 2020, Monbousquet presents a deep purple-black color, leaping out of the glass with vibrant aromas of crushed black plums, mulberries, and Morello cherries, along with the scents of dried Provençal herbs, charcoal, and forest floor. The medium to full-bodied palate reveals expressive layers of black and red berries, composed of soft tannins and just the right amount of freshness, finishing with a fragrant earthy note.
Grape varieties:
70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
