[Chateau La Garde 2016]
Château Lagune is located in the best terroir of Bordeaux's Pessac-Leognan region, neighboring several top wineries. The beautiful castle was built in 1732 and is one of the oldest historical castles in the region.
After acquiring the estate in 1990, Domaine de Chevalier made significant investments to renovate the facilities and invited renowned winemaker Michel Rolland to serve as their winemaking consultant, aiming to produce the finest wines in the Pessac-Leognan region.
Their efforts have paid off, and in recent years, Château La Garde's red and white wines have become the brightest stars in the region due to their exceptional quality.
The 2016 La Garde is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. It has aromas of dark berries, with hints of cedar and sandalwood, and is well-balanced in the glass, with a gradually richening body.
The fusion of black fruits and oak is just right.Powerful yet classical and elegant, thanks to the delicate tannins and cool, mineral freshness, it has a long, refined finish. The best vintage in the estate's history.Drink or hold. James Suckling
