Maison Leroy, guided by the legendary Lalou Bize-Leroy, produces some of the most profound and long-lived négociant wines in Burgundy. The 1999 vintage is widely considered one of the greatest of the century. After 25 years of careful cellaring, this Chorey-lès-Beaune has reached an ethereal state of pure tertiary perfection. It offers a profoundly moving bouquet of dried roses, worn leather, autumn leaves, fine black tea, and sweet kirsch. Light-bodied, it is exceptionally soft and completely seamless on the palate, with fully resolved tannins and remarkable vibrant energy.
